February 23 and 24th

February 23, 2012
Today's hospital visit was to Shands Pediatric Center in Gainesville, FL. The ride to Shands is just as long as the ride to Shriner's so the kids have adjusted to it.

Daddy and Paige ready a book while waiting for the neurologist to see us. We are now weaning the girls from one of the three medications they are currently on. We will return in six months for an EEG to discuss possible weaning of a second medication!!!

Every school quarter Connor has a book report that require some sort of illustration. He usually will recreate a new book cover by drawing and coloring on a piece of paper. This time I decided to challenge him to a more involved project and we came up with the shoebox project.

There's Franny in her laboratory with the two headed robot. He received a 4 which is an A!!!

February 20th and 21st

We're all guilty of it somehow. Whether it's licking the spoon, your fingers, or scraping the bowl clean...there's something about cake/cookie mix that everyone loves.

Kelsey is fascinated with ceiling fans and every diaper change is spent staring at it.

Day 50 | February 19, 2012

FIFTY DAYS!!!
I can't believe it's been 50 days already and we're still going strong :) Sunday mornings in the Coderre home are usually filled with the smells of bacon, scrambled eggs, coffee, and a display of newspaper all over the floor. It may look like a mess but the fact that it keeps the girls happy for hours is well worth all the picking up later.

February 18, 2012

Our mornings have changed quite a bit in the past couple weeks. Kelsey is awake more of the day and she's become more playful...something I've looked forward to. Today she played on her activity mat, batting at the hanging toys and (as most babies do) but everything in her mouth.

February 17, 2012

There's something about boys and their legos and like many boys my son loves them! Finding a safe place away from his sisters is sometimes a challenge, but when he sits down to build he's entertained for hours!

February 16, 2012

When it come to dressing the girls, it's up to me to decided what they wear. Most 5 years old's have established a style or preference to what they wear but our girls haven't. So I get to put them in all sorts of cute outfit. However, within 5 minutes they're dirty, torn, sticky, or some sort of stain is on them. So, for a very brief time they look absolutely adorable :)

Day 46 | February 15, 2012

This post is really a two day event that started on Valentine's Day and will end...well, we're not sure when it will end! Without going into too much detail, the kids and I were on our way home after Bree's therapy appointment in Daytona when our car collided with one car, who collided with another, and another, and another. No one was injured and the damage to all cars can be repair (we originally were told they were totaling our van). The accident is still being investigated and we're looking at several weeks of repair work before we get the van back.
The photo on the left is of the car moments after the accident and the one on the right is of the front end while we emptied our all our belongings while it sat in the tow yard.
The worse part of all of this is every time I get in the car, drive down the road, and see break lights I panic a bit that I won't be able to stop. I know this will eventually go away, but while the event is still fresh in my mind, driving is something I'm not comfortable with just yet.

Valentine's Day 45 | February 14, 2012

Our valentine's day started off wonderfully. Everyone was dressed in their adorable holiday outfits and off to school. Kelsey and I made treats for Paige and Bree's class and spent most of our morning there.

Mrs. Pio feeding Paige one of the cupcakes I made with Bree enjoying hers in the background.

The girls always enjoy playing outside on the swings and Kelsey was able to join them for the first time.

These are Connor's valentine's for his classmates...he loved them!

The yummy cake pops and mini cupcakes I made for the girls' class...they were a hit!

Paige and Bree's valentine's for their classmates...these were sooo fun to make:)

I had to include a photo of the beautiful roses Pete bought me--my favorite color pink!

And, of course, I had to get a few photos of Kelsey in her "First Valentine" outfit.

Check back to see how our day ended not so wonderfully!

Days 43 and 44 | February 12 - 13

Sunday, February 12, 2012
"Bath time"
Connor is always asking to help with caring for his little sister and bath time is definitely one of their favorite times.

"Mailboxes"

Today the kids decorated their mailboxes for all of their Valentines they would receive tomorrow. They all had fun sticking the stickers all over their boxes and coloring them as well. Can't wait to see them all filled up!

Days 40 through 42 | February 9th-11th

"Kelsey's First Play date"

Kelsey and I had a wonderful morning with some old friends and new ones too! Our friend Sara invited us over to join her and her daughters Kirra and Bella for their weekly play date. Our new friends Tripp and his mom Sunshine, and Isaac with his mom Tara were also there. The mom's enjoyed a delicious lunch with drinks and even though Kelsey can't keep up with the big kids yet she had fun too!

"Another trip to Shriner's Hospital"
Today I braved the 3 hour trip to Tampa all by myself. I've done it before but not with Kelsey too. The ride there wasn't too bad and with big brother Connor's help the time waiting for the girls new braces wasn't too bad either. The car ride home however was awful! There were so many accidents that with all the traffic and sitting on I-4, our 3 hour ride took 5 :( Leaving the house at 9:30am to get home at 8:00pm made for a long day...nothing we couldn't handle, right!!!

"Coloring"
Whenever the kids are driving me nuts and are bored I like to roll out a long piece of backdrop paper and put down a box of crayons and let them scribble till their hearts content.

Day 36 through 39 | February 5th-8th

Sunday, February 5, 2012
"Superbowl XLVI"
Ok...we're not sports fans in anyway. The only reason we had a party was to eat junk food and everyone enjoyed all the yummy dips I made in my new triple crockpot.

"It's so natural"
It took several weeks for both of us to get comfortable, get a routine, and now it just seems so natural. There's no greater bond than a mother nursing her child.

"Harder to Breathe"
Connor suffers from asthma and this allergy season has been particularly hard on him. He does regular nebulizer treatments but it just isn't cutting it so we're trying a new medication and hoping it works.

"Shopping Caravan"
Two shopping carts, pulling hair, throwing items out of the cart, crying, screaming, whining...that about sums up this shopping trip.

Day 32 through 35 | February 1st to 4th

Hello February and hello to one month of completing my 365 days of a picture a day of our family. Not many resolutions make it this far so I'm pretty proud of myself. I have to admit that I have missed some perfect photo opportunities throughout our days at home and while we're out and about. I keep challenging myself to keep my camera close and to predict these opportunities (it can be hard when your camera weighs 5lbs and isn't the easiest thing to lug around :)

"Sleepy Day"

Kelsey spent a lazy afternoon with daddy on the couch, trying to get a nap in before the big kids got home from school.

Thursday, February 2, 2012
"Mommy's Eyes"

I love looking into her beautiful blue eyes and even caught a glimpse of myself in them.

"Beautiful hair"
This was one of those moments that I missed. I wish I had photographed her getting her hair cut...didn't think about it till she was almost done. At least I was able to get this one of her looking into the mirror at her new cut. She kept saying "Awe...it's soooo beautiful".

"Pile up"
In our house the laundry never ends...there is always a pile to be folded, unfolded by Paige, refolded by me, thrown off the table by Bree, and refolded yet again by me.  It's a fun process *insert sarcasm*!!!

January 28th through January 31st

First month down...eleven more to go! I have to say wasn't sure if I could/would stick to this but I did. This was the only new year resolution I made and I'm so proud I stuck to it. Anyone else out there still sticking to their resolution(s)? Anyone else have a photo project they're working on...I'd love to hear about it!

"Monkeying Around"

I bought this cute little sock monkey hat before Kelsey was born and she finally fits into it. I put it on her for her three month old session (see more photos by clicking HERE ).

"Images Art Festival"

Every year at this time close to 100 artists and vendors from all over the country come to Canal Street and Riverside Dr. to show off and sell their paintings, jewelry, clothing, and photography at New Smyrna Beach's annual Images Art Festival. A tent was set up with arts and crafts for the kids and Paige had the chance to make bubble art. It was a beautiful day and was nice to spend a day at the park with the family.

"Morning with Mommy"

Mornings in our house are so quiet with the three older kids in school. Spending this time with Kelsey is precious and I soak up every minute of this time with her.

"Bree's big wheels"

Today was the first day Bree rode her wheelchair to school.  The poor thing looked so scared getting on the bus on the lift this morning but by the time she got home she was all smiles and giggles.
