Too beautiful outside to be stuck in the house so I let the girls loose in the back yard. Kelsey found these strange seeds that had fallen from a vine that grows along the powerline by our fence. They were the strangest things I'd ever seen. Kelsey threw them around like balls...free entertainment.
My girls LOVE shakes and I make one pretty much every day for them. Their favorite is the Iceberry Shake (as named by Paige). I take frozen blueberries, ice, water, and Herbalife mix/Protein mix and blend in my single-serve blender. They love it and usually fight over who gets the next sip...they're like baby birds waiting for the worm.
Finally made it to Seaworld for their Christmas Celebration. We loaded up the van and along with my MIL Pauline, headed to Orlando for a beautiful day at our favorite theme park. The weather was perfect, the lights were gorgeous, and it even "snowed". The kids were amazing and we all had a wonderful time...even though we didn't get home till after 10pm.
Our favorite turtle from the Turtle Trek Experience.
Not sure who I was yelling at...will I ever get a decent picture with the girls!?!?
Waiting to see Elmo
One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing the girls eyes light up when Elmo and the whole Sesame Street gang walk on stage and start singing.
Paige was entranced...she couldn't take her eyes off Elmo. I was so afraid both girls would scream and cry but they proved me wrong...they were so happy!
There were dozens of tree lights all over the lake at the center of the park...just beautiful
Earlier in the day we went to the Clyde and Seamore Holiday show. Connor was chosen to help with the pre-show entertainment.
Here is a video of Connor helping the mime during the pre-show entertainment
This year was one crazy holiday season. For the first year ever I had all of the gifts wrapped a week early, I barely got any baking done, and gift were put under the tree at 10:30 Christmas morning. Connor stayed at his dad's house last night and I wanted to the girls to wait until Connor go home so everyone could open their gifts together. It wasn't until after noon before the unwrapping started.
The girls were given a new table with four chairs so they could all sit together.
You should have seen Connor's face when he saw this bike.
It was driving Kelsey nuts that she couldn't touch the gifts.
So I caved and gave her one to open.
Then Paige wanted one too.
Bree and Kelsey enjoyed some pancakes on their new table.
Auntie Lisa came and surprised Kelsey with diamond earrings...finally got her ears pierced!
Our Christmas eve tradition is for the kids to open one very special gift. That gift is their Christmas jammies that they must wear for Santa to come and see them.
Here is a photo of the girls in their Christmas jammies last year at Grandma's
Christmas Eve tradition is to take a tubby in Grandma's big bathtub.
The girls fought over who got to sit in the rocking so getting a shot of all three girls did not happen.
My Uncle Howard and Aunt Tammie came to visit the girls today and top bring Christmas gifts since we can't get together Christmas day. I just love this photo of Kelsey talking to Auntie Tammie...have fun captioning it!
Every year for the past 15 years I have baked (from scratch!) holiday cookies and candies. This year just wasn't happening. I felt so guilty for not making the effort so I broke down and bought boxed mixes and easy recipes. Thankfully I had a little help. Okay, so he only helped so he could like the bowl.
I love visiting the girls at school. Today Kelsey, my mom, and I brought special treats for all the kids in their class. We met up with them on the playground before heading in for snack time. The kiddos loved the brownie cupcakes and after everyone cleaned up we all sat around for story time before saying goodbye.
How cute is the door to their classroom!?!?
The para's decorated it like a gingerbread house and even made gingerbread men with a picture of each of the children.
