Day 155

Last day of school for the kiddos! It's amazing how much they change in just one school year. I love looking back over the years and comparing. Unfortunately I flubbed up and switched the girls shirts, so they're not wearing the exact outfit they wore on the first day. And there was just no way Connor was going to fit in his shorts, so those are new. Before I know it I will have a sixth grader and two first graders!

And a big thank you to Ms. Mort, Ms. Maria, and Ms. Kelly for an amazing year! We love you ladies!!!

 Day 154

Connor celebrated with his entire 5th grade class today at their End of Year party. The theme was Summer at the Beach and the kids had a blast. The graduating class was served Dustin's BBQ and Chick-fil-a for lunch, cake and cinnamon rolls for dessert. DJ Big Tom was there playing their favorite songs
and I (Liz Coderre Photography) provided the Shoot Booth service.

Be sure to check out all the images from their celebration at

Day 137

Yup...another trip to Seaworld. This was a special trip, though. Connor, along with the entire 5th grade, had their fifth grade field trip to the theme park. The kids had a blast and by the end of the day everyone was exhausted. Great day was had by all.

Day 133

My little man is a middle-schooler. Tonight was Connor's first orientation at the middle school...so strange to he back at the school I attended (more years ago than I care to mention). Tonight was just an explanation of the different electives he had to choose from. It's becoming more and more real...he's not a little kid any more.

Day 129

I love visiting the girls at school and try to make it there at least once a month. Today we brought the class cupcakes that looked just like red apples for Teacher Appreciation Week. If you're on Instagram athttp://instagram.com/lizcoderre
go check out all the gift we gave each day this week on my feed.

Bree really like her cupcake

What an exciting day! Today was Paige and Bree's first offical field trip and I was lucky enough to be there with them. The girls class, along with all the kindergarten and ESE Pre-K, went to the Peabody Auditorium to see Jack Hartmann's Hop 2 it show. Our school as well as many other schools in the area filled the seats of the auditorium in anticipation of the big show.

Paige almost didn't make it--she'd had a seizure the night before. She was a little sleepy and wanted to sit on my lap most of the time. I wish she wasn't recovering because I know she would of had an amazing time. Bree loved it and dance with her teacher, Ms. Mort, most of the time. Great day!

Here's on of Jack's videos...it will help explain the penquin hats.

What a day for Connor! Awards ceremony and a field trip to the local museum and I was there for every minute of it. We started the morning with Connor receiving two awards--first for Quality Demonstration of Cooperation and second for Honor Roll. Immediately after the awards, all fifth grade classes loaded up on school buses and headed to the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach. We sat back and learned all about the solar system the the museum's planetarium then sat in their theater as one of the curators taught us about they types of energy. I was even asked to go up on stage to particpate! Everyone enjoyed lunch outside under the warm sun then headed back to school. I'm pretty sure this will be the last field trip I will ever go on with Connor and I'm glad I took the time to do it :)

Connor with his buddy Zach

I can only image what he is thinking...surrounded by all these cute young ladies.

A shot I managed to get during the laser light show in the planetarium.

One thing I learned today...Connor is a social butterfly and is friendly with pretty much everyone in his class.

The girls took their annual field trip to the local post office to mail their special valentines. Luck for them the post office is a short walk from school, so Kelsey and I joined them as they made their way through the quiet streets. All the kids from Paige and Bree's Kindergarten class joined the ESE and Pre-K classes to get their special letter stamped and mailed out to their mommy's and daddy's for Valentine's Day.

Each child went up to the counter, gave the cashier their change, placed the stamp on their envelope and placed it in the mailbox...made me realize just how grown up the girls have become.

Math Night at Publix. This afternoon the girls and I went with Connor to our local Publix Super Market to participate in his elementary school's annual Math Night. Each student is given a sheet with several math problem related to preparing meals and grocery shopping. Connor had a blast running all over the store solving each problem. He had to prepare a salad using 5 ingredients for less than $10. Then he had to see how much it would cost to make strawberry shortcake, buy three boxes of cereal, the cost of one can of soda, and how many pounds of hamburger to make dinner for four. It took some time but he got it done!
