November 3rd | Kelsey's First Birthday Party

Day 308 | November 3, 2012 - Saturday
What an amazing day! Our sweet baby girl had her first birthday party surrounded by our best friends and loving family. I'd planned this day for three months...every detail was carefully thought out, all for my sweet baby Kelsey. It was difficult deciding how to handle birthday parties this year since all three of our girls share a birthday but I knew that Kelsey had to have her first birthday all to herself.

The theme was "Pretty in Pink" and it all started at the front door with my handmade paper rosette initial and tissue paper rose atop the boxed gifts that spelled out "ONE".

Everything created was done in some shade of pink.

I decorated her high chair with a pink fabric seat cover and pink tulle skirt. A 16x20 mounted print of Kelsey from her "Cake Smash" session greeted the guests as they walked in the door.

Our guest began to arrive! One of our first guest was my aunt and uncle. As soon as they saw them walk door the first words out of the girls' mouths were 'french fries'. They always bring them for the girls when they comes to visit...love it!

Another little guest was Caden, Kelsey's future boyfriend :)

My first attempt at cake pops was not a successful as I had hoped but they were awfully yummy. White chocolate covered chocolate cake pops and pink chocolate vanilla cake pops and strawberry Whoppers.

I decorated the gift table with handmade tissue carnations in a milk glass vase and a display of my "month by month" images of Kelsey from 1 month to 11 months.

My Uncle Howard with his son Howard and first grandson Owen.

Caden's mommy (a long-time friend of mine) Cathy came to celebrate with us. Wish the kiddos pic didn't come out so blurry :(

  Miss Maddie and Kelsey

Strawberry Marshmallows and chocolate covered strawberry-filled Oreos. Kelsey's cake was a layered chocolate cake with an pink umbre icing.

Cute pink lollipops for each of the guests as a way to say 'thank you for coming'.

  2. Really impressed with the first birthday party decorations and planning. I think one of the beautifully located venues in Chicago would be the best option to organize my brother's cocktail party. Drinks and chocolate favors will be ordered online. Quality caterers and Dj services will be hired. Planning to take help from my best friend.
